Elfyn Lewis
Elfyn Lewis’ love of place is a clear strand throughout his work which are, as he describes, ‘layered time after time until the upper layer explodes and transforms from its volcanic creation into a vivid landscape.’
Born in Porthmadog, North Wales, Elfyn Lewis’s distinctive abstract paintings are held in a number of public + private collections. His work has been widely exhibited throughout the UK + worldwide. In 2009 Lewis was awarded the Gold Medal for Fine Art at the National Eisteddfod of Wales + later went on to be named Welsh artist of the year in 2010.
