Nerea Martinez De Lecea
“Nerea Martinez De Lecea is an award winning interdisciplinary artist working in photography, video, installation, multimedia and drawing.”
In 2010, De Lecea won the award for Fine Art at the National Eisteddfod of Wales with ‘untitled’, a video + series of digital prints. She was later awarded the Gold Medal for Fine Art at the National Eisteddfod of Wales in 2018 for her series of digital paintings, entitled child a. Her digital paintings are meticulously created through forming a palette of flat colour on the ‘page’ + using a brush tool to add, remove, blend + paint the image in multiple layers, building up the image much as a 'real' painter would.
Martinez De Lecea’s work has been exhibited + screened internationally including: the Saatchi Gallery, London; Museum of Contemporary Art, Taipei; Arnolfini, Bristol; Chapter, Cardiff; Copenhagen Contemporary Art Centre; Singapore Art Museum and Somerset House, London.
