CATRIN LLWYD EVANS

AR HYD Y LLWYBR

[ALONG THE PATH]

17|03 - 22|04 2023

Mae TEN yn falch o gyflwyno arddangosfa o baentiadau newydd gan yr arlunydd, Catrin Llwyd Evans. Mae’r corff newydd yn cynnwys paentiadau dyfrlliw a gouache ar bapur a datblygiad pellach - a mwy o faint - o waith olew ar banel.

Mae paentiadau Llwyd Evans yn ystyried tirwedd ac yn cael eu hysgogi gan ei harsylwadau o’i mamwlad – yn stori, lliw, cyfansoddiad arbennig neu emosiwn. Arweinir ni am dro drwy gefn gwlad canolbarth Cymru. Ar adegau yn gwyro tuag at yr haniaethol, mae'r paentiadau'n symud rhwng realiti a rhith - gan brocio ryw gof neu’n amwys o gyfarwydd.

‘Mae gan bob tirwedd stori, mae'r paentiadau'n adrodd stori; maent wedi'u trwytho â naratif. Yn bwysicaf oll, mae’r gweithiau’n agored i’w dehongli, ac yn gallu arwain y gynulleidfa i greu eu naratifau eu hunain.’ - Catrin Llwyd Evans

TEN is pleased to present an exhibition of new paintings by the artist, Catrin Llwyd Evans. This new body includes watercolour and gouache works on paper and further development - and bigger in scale - of oils on board.

Llwyd Evans’s paintings consider the landscape and are prompted by her observations of her homeland – a story, colour, a particular composition or an emotion. We are taken on a journey through the mid-Wales countryside. At times veering towards the abstract, the paintings fluctuate between reality and illusion - rousing a memory or ambiguous familiarity.

‘Each landscape has a story, the paintings tell a story; they’re infused with narrative. Most importantly, the works are open to interpretation, and that they can guide the viewers to create their own narratives.’ - Catrin Llwyd Evans
